Summary
BookDeep does not collect, transmit, share or sell personal data. It has no accounts, no servers, no advertising and no analytics, and the Android app does not request the internet permission.
What the app stores on your device
For each book you import: its title, author, language, publisher and description (read from the file), a small cover image, a fingerprint of the file used to detect duplicates, and a reference to where the file is.
As you read: your position, bookmarks, highlights, notes and reading appearance, plus app settings such as theme and library layout.
If a file is opened from another app without lasting access, BookDeep keeps a private copy of that EPUB so the book keeps working.
All of this lives in the app’s private storage. It is deleted when you uninstall the app, and a book’s entry, cover, private copy, bookmarks and notes are deleted when you remove that book from your library. Your original EPUB files are never modified or deleted by BookDeep.
What is not collected
No device identifiers, advertising IDs, location, contacts, analytics, crash reports or usage statistics are collected or sent anywhere by the app.
Network
The app has no network permission and no code that contacts a server. Links inside a book open in your browser only after you confirm; what happens after that is governed by the browser and the site you visit.
Backups you create
“Export reading data” writes a file to a location you choose. It contains bookmarks, notes, reading positions and per-book appearance, not the books themselves. BookDeep does not upload it. Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for the app.
Permissions
The app requests no special permissions. File access happens through Android’s system file picker.
This website
This website is a static page. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or images; everything is served from the same origin. Like any web host, the hosting provider may keep ordinary server logs (for example IP address and requested page) according to its own policy.
Links to Google Play lead to a service operated by Google, which has its own privacy policy.
Children
The app and this website collect no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
